My show at the brink gallery opened on Friday night. Pretty much it was an awesome experience. About halfway through the evening, I was kind of laughing at myself for being so nervous and worried before it started. I guess that's just part of the process - especially since it was my first time stickin' my neck out in this kind of way. All in all, I think it was received pretty dang well. I heard some great (and damn kind) words from various people. One person told me they felt like they were "at a cocktail party with all the people in the photos, and wanted to talk to every one of them." Another told me that seeing all the people made him want to go ride his skateboard - that's a pretty awesome compliment in my book.
This whole process was very humbling and I feel like I can't say thanks enough. And if you missed the opening, don't hassle it. I will be working at the brink on Thursdays and Fridays from 5-8 pm and Saturdays from 9 am-noon in August. Please come keep me company.
